Can characters break the law? --yes. Anyone can break the law. However, the Own usually acts as the police in the capital and will bring people to justice. The magistrate is the high judge of the country and usually has final say, though only a member of the royal trio (king, queen, crown prince) may grant full pardons.
Does OUAT have liquid time? --yes. Every character can be in as many threads as you can keep active at any given time. Try to keep some sort of time frame between them however. Characters cannot actually be in two places at the same time on the same day IC.
How does OUAT's time work? --every IC month is worth exactly 28 real time days and will coincide with the moon. Every full moon, the IC month will change. Summer is June, July, and August; Autumn is September, October, and November; Winter is December, January, and February; and Spring is March, April, and May.
Can characters marry? --yes. High born nobles usually have arranged marriages for the betterment of their family, though not all young people choose to go along with it. This is usually frowned upon. Low born nobles also have arranged marriages, but it is not so uncommon for a man to choose his own wife. Commoners rarely have an arranged marriage, but go through a courting system where the man takes the woman out several times and finally asks her father's blessing and her hand in marriage. Dowries and bride prices gain expense as the maiden's rank increases. Only the magistrate or priests of the Goddess are able to declare a couple married. Vows are chosen by the couple and agreed upon by their parents.
How do I audition for a cannon? --post the application in the main biography board, not in the 'Pending' sub-board. Remember, cannons take the next skill level of role-player. All of the word count minimums remain the same. However, do not expect to earn the title doing the bare minimum. Many auditions, especially higher ranks (such as queen) will remain open for extended periods of time so that more than one person may audition.
What is the Origin of the royal family? --because the royal family owns the entire country, their origin is the country itself. Thus, if the king's first name is Raoul. His full name would be King Raoul of Menor.
